Accounting pricing limits: transaction, user and MYOB entity

Count busy-month activity, function users and business files against Australian accounting plan limits before comparing costs.

Match transaction counts and user needs to each plan’s stated allowances and rates; count each MYOB business file as its own subscription. Keep offer-period and ongoing prices separate, then add any stated per-payment or per-employee charges.

Count activity at the plan’s boundary

Count invoices, bills and online bill payments in a normal and peak month. Check the applicable plan terms for when an item counts—on creation, approval, sending or payment—before comparing activity with the allowances.

Xero Ignite costs $7.40 a month for the first three months, then $37 a month. It lists quotes, 20 invoices and five bills; online bill payments are optional at $0.35 per payment.

Xero Grow costs $15.60 a month for the first three months, then $78 a month. Invoice and bill features are included, but no numerical allowance is stated; online bill payments include up to five, then cost $0.35 per additional payment.

Xero Comprehensive costs $21.40 a month for the first three months, then $107 a month. Invoice, bill and online bill payment features are included, but no numerical transaction or payment allowance is stated.

Xero Ultimate 10 costs $28.60 a month for the first three months, then $143 a month. Invoice, bill and online bill payment features are included, but no numerical transaction or payment allowance is stated.

MYOB Solo, Business Lite, Business Pro and AccountRight Plus each list unlimited quotes and invoices.

QuickBooks plan details list invoice and quote features, but give no numerical invoice, bill or payment allowance. Prices effective as at 1 July 2025 were Simple Start $29 a month, Essentials $45, Plus $60 and Advanced $110.

Separate access from specialist charges

Xero allows multiple users to collaborate simultaneously, but does not state a standard-user count or per-user price. Payroll covers one person on Ignite, two on Grow, five on Comprehensive and 10 on Ultimate 10. Expenses and mileage are excluded on Ignite; they cover one user on Grow, five on Comprehensive and 10 on Ultimate 10. Grow charges $5 a month per additional expenses and mileage user.

MYOB Solo lists one user profile; Business Lite, Pro and AccountRight Plus list unlimited profiles. Lite payroll covers up to two employees, while Pro payroll is unlimited at an extra $3 per employee per month. AccountRight Plus includes unlimited payroll at no extra cost.

QuickBooks lists one regular user for Simple Start, three for Essentials, five for Plus and 25 for Advanced; accountant access is separate. QuickBooks plan details do not state payroll add-on pricing.

MYOB lists up to two connected bank accounts for Solo and Lite, and unlimited accounts for Pro and AccountRight Plus. Xero and QuickBooks plan details do not state connected-bank-account allowances.

Price every business file

Each MYOB business file needs its own subscription, although users can switch between businesses under the same account login. Xero plan details do not state how many organisations a subscription covers or a per-organisation rate; QuickBooks details give no multiple-company-file allowance or per-file price.

Per MYOB file, Solo costs $12 a year for the first 12 months, then $99 a year. Business Lite is displayed at $94.50 a year, then $315 a year after the offer; its offer is 70% off for six months. Pro costs $21 a month, then $70 a month after six months; AccountRight Plus costs $66 a month, then $165 a month after three months.

The displayed rates do not state whether GST is included.
